It is reported that the purchase plan of China's Antarctic fixed-wing aircraft has been approved in 2013, and the type of scientific research equipment to be installed has been determined. After the purchase of the fixed-wing aircraft is completed, it will meet the three functional requirements of "material and personnel transportation, scientific investigation, and emergency rescue". In particular, the cooperation with foreign cooperative units in scientific research equipment ensures the quality of the fixed-wing aircraft scientific research platform.

In addition, in 2013, China's new polar scientific expedition icebreaker project carried out a feasibility study report on the basis of expanding the conceptual design plan and test data. After expert review and demonstration, the new polar icebreaker project has entered the approval stage of the feasibility study report.

At the same time, China's "Xuelong" polar scientific research ship also carried out a restoration repair and reconstruction project in 2013. The reconstructed "Xuelong" ship has updated the main equipment such as the main engine and auxiliary engine, cancelled the heavy oil system, switched to the light oil system, adjusted the layout of the tank and re-checked the stability of the ship, and at the same time, the shafting system, engine room The piping system, some deck equipment, scientific research and environmental protection equipment have been repaired and transformed.
